An Interesting Saturday ( 2 Feb 2008)

Afternoon (12pm- 4Pm): Kranji Countryside Tour
Mum, Ed and I went for this tour after seeing it on a newspaper advertisement. For a $2 shuttle bus fee/person, you can board the hourly shuttle bus from Kranji MRT to several locations in Kranji, e.g. Goat farm, Agrotech, Frog Farm and etc..

If interested, can check out the website: http://www.kranjicountryside.com/template/farmpreneurs.html

Our first stop for the day: Nyee Phoe Petals and leaves...
There is a place where you can do fishing. Qutie a tranquil place... They do sell quite interesting flowers too...

The one in the middle left above, with the orange fruits is called big fruit plant! I was guessing that it is pomelo.. hee. The cactus looks pretty interesting too..

Second Stop: Aero-green Technology (S) Pte Ltd
My mum bought organic vegetables from here. Seriously, there is nothing much to see at this stop. Instead Ed and I were more interested in the grocery shop there. haha.. we tried out the butterhead lettuce juice.. Eeeks... Dont like it.. Too veg taste le... Haha..

Third and Last Stop: Bollywood veggies

This is the most interesting place. They has several difference plants here and they got different plots of land with interesting names like, Go Bananas (All sorts of bananas here, Zen will sure hate it) and Wild Singapore

Some interesting plant as shown below. I did not know that plants has gender too! Male papaya referes to the tree beside it.. It sure is strong and tall!
There is also a 40 clock flower.. Though I did not see any flowers at all... Oh realise the bottom left photos, it looks like a giant vegetable (like a huge Xiao Bai Cai) When Ed pointed it out to me, I cant stop laughing...

We had our tea break at Bollywood veggies.. It sure is expensive and not very nice. The prata cost $1 without the curry gravy and the carrot cake cost $6.. Too soft and wet.. Not nice.
That's all for our adventurous trip to the Kranji Countryside. Kinda disappointed with the place but it is a good experience anyway...

Evening 6pm: Chingay Full Dress Rehearsal @ People's Association

I won tickets to the full dress rehearsal at one of the contest held by Passion (a card for community center. I initally joined to go for dim sum class with Mum). Upon reaching, we got a lunch box and a visitor's pass where we (ed and I) can just roam around and take photos with the dancers... I realise I am considered one of the lucky few (about 30 people in total) who won tickets.. Guess my luck is getting better.

Some of the photos taken before the rehearsal

The full dress rehearsal starts...
This is my first time seeing a Chingay live... I must say it is really interesting and vibrant. I am still pretty excited over the fact that I am so up close with the participants... Lucky me..
