Taiwan Day 2 (4 June 2007 Mon)

The weather was rainy throughout our 10 days in Taiwan. We coincided with the Mei Yu Ji Jie. Bit disappointed but at least the weather was cooling and I got myself a sweet cute lacey umbrella.

Morning: Visited 中正纪念堂 and 国父纪念馆.

Afternoon 1p.m.: Shopping at 新光三越. A departmental store. I was amazed by their lift lady who keep on repeating the same words whenever someone enters or alight the lift. Their job is to help us press the lift buttons and to repeat a preprogrammed speech at every floor. Poor them. Their job must be the most boring in the world.

Afternoon 4p.m. Reached Tamshui Lao Jie. Bemused Ed thinking of what is nice at Tamshui!

Tamshui Tie Dan. Tasted Spongy and Hard.

We tooked a ferry from Tamshui to get to Bali, which is an island just across Tamshui.

Shuang Bao Tai. When we took the ferry and alighted at Bali, we saw a long queue at one the shop for this. Tasted like the " Butterfly" in Singapore. Quite nice. This is the pic of just one side as we were too excited and gobbled up the other side.

Tamshui's Fish ball. Tasted like Fuzhou fishball except that the skin is more bouncy and hard. Still prefer the Fuzhou fishball.

This is Tamshui famous Ah gei. Tasted quite nice. It is actually Vermicelli wrapped in toufu with a sweet gravy. Tasted not bad. I caught myself a big Chip and Dale toy and it is named after this dish. Any similarity between the two of them?

This is my loot in Taiwan. I got hooked to the Toy catching machines. I sill have other toys! All the toys below were caught in a day! I am so proud of myself! Ed has to stop me from frequenting the toy shops to avoid spending more money.

At Bali. We realised that there is actually nothing much at Bali. However Bali was much bigger than I expected. On the other side of Tamshui, is another small town bustling with activities.

Wow! This is delicious!!! This squid is common along the streets of Tamshui. It is amazing tasty. Must try!

Recommeded By Nicole.Tasted like Fish cracker. Another speciality of Tamshui.

We ended off the day at Tamshui Fisherman's Wharf Lovers' Bridge. A pity we did not catch the sunset.
