Shopping Sweets....

Went to the loreal sale yesterday.. got myself 2 lipgloss and lipstick. Oh yah, got for myself a liquid eyeshadow. QUite interesting..heee. Heee. was a good buy. Cost 4 for $20.. hee..

I just realised that I bought quite a lot of stuff during the one week break.. SO happy.
1)Espirit T-shirt
2) I bought Cleo at Kinokuniya and got a free Anna Sui Nail Polish.. Heee!
3) A $2 white pearl bracelet. Thought it was quite a steal.. Got it at Sun Tec City at one of the Push Cart..
4) A Library premium membership.. Cost $21 for a year.. Can borrow up to 4 audio visuals item for 7 days.. oh ya, can borrow music scores too (quite a deal)

These are 2 of the movies that I borrowed.

To the top: Is an award-winning comedy movie about 6 guys who were strip teaser. Rated RA.. But no provocative nude scenes were scene, though there were much vulgarities.

To the right, A heart-warming and comedy movie. I was attracted to the front cover.

Lastly, I want to mention the SKin Shop at Marina Square Level One. I love their nail polish!!! Thought it was quite cheap at $4 plus for one and the most important part is that it is wasy to apply on!!!

I first got to know of this shop as I got some of their merchandise as a brithday present.. There was this papaya yoghurt mask which smelled very nice.. Their packaging are quite intersting too... IF you happen to be at Marina Square, can drop by this shop....

English versus Chinese concert

Went to watch OASIS concert on thursday ( 23 Feb).. One of edwards's favourite idol.. Heee...i enjoyed myself though i cant really make out what they were singing.. hehe..

This concert was unlike the previous chinese concerts( Sammi Cheng and Fish Leong concert) that I have seen..

1) The performance time was generally shorter. They sang for about 1.5 hours.. But Liam was really very cool and bit aloof on stage. Quite mesmerizing! Heee... Ed was saying that we were quite fortunate to hear him sing most of the songs as for their other world tours.. the most he sang was only 20mins.. Hee.. But credit must also be given to the brother,Noel, who sang my favourite song.. hehe.. OOps, I forgot wat's the name..hehe...

2) There were standing audience and sitting audience unlike Chinese concerts where people were generally sitted comfortably in their seats. Heee.. The most expensive tickets were the standing ones and we stood all the way through for the concert...

3) There were no "ke dao hua" in the concert. OASIS just went on stage and started singing.. No nonsense were said but just quality song... Heee. but somehow I miss the personal touch in other concerts where there were much more interaction between the idol and the audience... Heee. I am not saying there were no interaction as the audience were shouting and dancing all the while.

Generally, it was fun and a good experience!!!

My fulfilling weekend

Friday

Went to University Cultural Centre to watch the Electronic Lab Music Concert. Quite an interesting one. The whole setting was laid back and relaxing with sofas and mats on the floor.. Ok but the thing is ed and I were somewhat late for the concert. Hee.. So we had to sit on the chairs provided... This time experience was a whole new different one compared to the last year. I just felt comfortable and enjoyed myself...

Oh ya, I even got myself a free t-shirt by completing a survey there. At first ed dont want to fill up as he say the most will just get a pen and he is just plain lazy to fill it up. With nothing much to do, I decided to help the lady who was giving out the surveys at the door. ( I understand and been through the hardship of completing surverys. hee) To my surprise, they gave me a T-shirt after I complete it. How nice.. Haa.. Soon after, ed and a swarm of our friends came to fill up the survey. haaa...

Yeah, I finally got to eat the prata at the prata house before heading back to hostel.. A rewarding night...

Saturday
Had dinner at the fisherman's wharf... (this is suppose to be a place in California) Ed and I were on board a bus when we caught sight of this shop selling fish and chips.. Curiosity got the better of us, so we hopped off the bus to try it for ourselves.. Hee.. The serving portion was big and the food was tasty... it was relatively cheap costing only $6.50 for the big portion of chips and fish..

Follwing that, we went to the Arts House for the Spanish Film, What have i done to deserve this... This is in conjuction with the Spnaish Film Festival. A 1980s film, it depicts a cleaning woman who slogged her life to make ends meet. (working 18 hours a day) The show was quite unusual in the sense that there there is a weird and funny grandmother who is very stingy, a husband who does not care much for the family and is into forgery. For more, you can view it at the Arts House... But the tickets are going fast as is free and there are limited shows and seats...

I was setting much higher expectations prior to the show as the film has won several awards. But I was kinda disappointed after watching it.. But anyway, is still a interesting show.. Though a bit weird.. hee (my personal feelings)

After the film, went to river hongbao to catch the fireworks... It was so so pretty...

Sunday
Had 4 hours of tuition... Then went back home to make stuff for valentime day.. hehe. Hope you all will like it. Then at night, headed back to River hongbao.. took some photos of the fireworks. It was much prettier than those on Saturday. Maybe to mark the end of Chinese new year.

The fireworks were so interesitng. SOme look like the shape of a satellite, waterfalls, there were even heart shapes one.. I love those colourful ones... It was very magnificient. You can imagine the crowd there. I personally feel that it was even nicer than those at the National Day.

Miao Rong's room

The new hall 3! Air conditioned, Spacious, new facitlites and amenties.... SO pretty... I especially like the partition between the beds. It felt as if you have your own corner and yet at the same time enjoying the companion of having a room mate. Isnt it like getting the best of both worlds... Posted by Picasa

Yeap.. I am going yo US

Is confirmed... I am going to Grand Canyon this coming holiday. Hee... I made the initial payment to the agency this afternoon... Hope the remaining procedures will go on smoothly...

Seriously, I cant imagine what will happen there and then... Not really a nature lover and sports person, I wonder at times how I will survive there with no shopping. Hee. But i guess this will be an invaluable experience in my life. Maybe I will transform into a super trekker when I come back.. hee... Actually I am more of looking forward to the extended trip after the work there. Hee.. San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas..

I am enjoying the bits and pieces of planning my trip there.. e.g. borrowing travel guides and researching online.. hee. Though went on a self-planned trip to Japan before but things are pretty different now (cos back then, I was more of a free rider.. I am just in charge of going there and have fun) *oops* Stay on for more updates...

Chinese New Year

Today is the fifth day of chinese new year... I have a bad sore throat now.. Must be because of all the new year goodies that i ate.. Have to abstain quite a bit as the pain is intense especially when i swallow down food.. So sad... I did not really get to eat much during new year as the throat has been bothering me since the first day of new year.. So suai...

Hee.. Was watching shen diao sia niu during the chinese new years. I manage to complete the whole series in a period of 3 days. Am i suppose to be proud of that? Hee.. I guess not..

Oh yah, did I mention anything about the Work in US program before? I got the acceptance mail from them this afternoon. Although I did not get my first choice to ALaska, I think i got a better deal of going to Grand Canyon National Park( that's my second choice). Hee.. Things are much cheaper at Grand Cayon, especially with no shopping there. I am still thinking if I should go there? Three months away from home seems pretty long. But the experience gathered from there will indefinitely be valuable. Oh ya and the breathtaking scenery.. hee.. I may also get to eat the Krispy Kreme doughnut.. SO interesting.. Read about so many articles about Krispy Kreme in my stay in NTU.. Gotta try it for myself when I am in US...

I really do hope edward can go also to the Grand Canyon National Park.. Otherwise I will have no single companion.. Hee... But I am taking things easy as I really do not know if this is the best choice for me...
