Still waiting for Speedwing

It had been two days since I called Speedwing: the agency in Singapore in charged for the WAT. Called them up again this morning. Think Jason, the guy in-charged, must be thinking I am like a very pestering fly.. Hope will hear from him soon.. I wonder how long can i hold back the travel agency... Cos i promise them that I will get back to them latest by this friday.

At first, I was a bit shocked that I have to make my own arragements to go for the WAT. Speedwing is just responsible for getting us this deal. Of course they are earning, and I must say it is quite a bit. $1,458 just for the administration fee.. But i do know that it is impossible to go to USA to work if without them.. hehe.. So i am not really complaining.

But somehow I must say that it feels different to plan a trip all by yourself. Transfer flights, domestic flights, lodging and itinerary. Though headache at times, but the sense of satisfaction justifies all the hard work.

I am really intent on going for the WAT. I am grateful for my parents (at least so far I have told my mummy. hee) for their understanding.. hehe. Parents are the most noble people on earth, and I am indeed glad that I am born in this family. I do know that they will get worried, especially my mummy, since I will be away for so long and going to national park. But i promise I will take care of myself.

Sacrifices to be made

The US employer rejected both Ed and mine contract dates for returning.. THis morning was completely hectic... Upon calling up and realising that the employer rejected our request. My mind went blank... But a few minutes later, I was asking myself: Convocation or Work and Travel?

I do understand my parents feelings for me to go for this ceremony.. But after all this while of planning, I have grown to believeing that i am really setting off for US. Choices are inevitable in life. And i do hope that I will not regret this choice that i made... Hee. But i doubt i will.. hehe.. Think things will be pretty fun and exciting over there...

Busy week

22 March (wednesday)

Driving test at 4.30pm at Bukit batok.. I failed. Who on earth will mount kerb when coming out of vertical parking? I am being too complacent about my driving test, especially when i managed to drive through smoothly for my S course (my most fearful segment).

Now have to wait for the next test date. I wont be able to make it for the retest in August due to my work and trval program in US. Guess I will just have to wait or some good soul will give up their seats for me to retake before I set off for US.

24 Mar (friday)

FYP deadline. Finally all's over.. The long nights and redrafting process are gone with the wind. Hope our efforts and hard work will be rewarded... Heee. Pray hard that we will get an A.

After that, went out with Ed to catch a movie at Plaza Singapura: V for Vendetta. Quite a nice show.. Those typical super hero shows with a tinge of classi-ness.. hehe.. I was initally for the movie, "yours, mine and ours" but ed wants to watch V so we went ahead with it.. Oh ya, I finally got to eat the cheese cakes at cafe cartel.. But was somewat disappointing.. The oreo cheesecake has orange flavour in it one.. It was a bit too soft for my liking too.. I still prefer Secret Recipe's baked cheese cake. Simply fabulous..

25 Mar (saturday)

NATAS fair.. THe place there was very crowded even in the early morning and it looked as if travel is FREE!!!

Met up with the Grand Canyon people.. They are a bunch of fun-loving people.. HEe. Can you believe that we spend 8 hours there ( from 10am -6pm), but we still did not manage to get any tickets. We were on the verge of booking the THAI airways which was about $200 plus cheaper than those quoted by the GASI holidays.. And who knows after about 20 mins of waiting, They say the seats are all taken up!! (this was after all the moving about and checking out of fare prices) faint....

SO tomorrow I am going back to GASI holidays to arrange for my tour. I wonder what they will surprise me with after I heard all those bad comments from my frenzs.

Heee.. But the Happy thing was that I got to eat the new Beppu Ramen at Sun Tec City.. It still tasted very nice. A must try.. Though the ramen then was a bit too soft and not spongy, the soup was very rich and hot... heee

For dinner, Ed and I went to Bugis to eat the nice won-ton noodle that my roomie recommended. (across bugis junction) The won-ton was nice.. Crispy but I was thinking that my roomie liking for it was not apprehended by me. Guess I set too high an expectation. After dinner, I went for dessert at the Liang Seah Street. I tried the " steamed egg" Quite nice also.. hehe. But it gets a bit "ni" after a few mouthful of it.. hee..

26 Mar (sunday)
Spent my day teaching tuition, sleeping and watching Charmed which I borrowed from Esplanade. Pretty interesting. But i doubt i will be able to finish the whole season of Charmed by next Saturday.. hehe...

Updates for the past two weeks

Preoccupied with projects!!! Finally got the time to sit down and update my blog. FYP first draft was finally completed and done. Hope things will continue to run smoothly.

3 March (Friday) : Sun Tec and Esplanade
Wanted to catch the tourism fair but little did I expect I got the dates wrong! hee.. But... I got something even better and memorable.. The FIFA World Cup World Tour...We had to register to get in, and we got those red rubber bands saying," We all speak football" So cool. following that, there was a photo gallery and a small 3D clip screened there. Putting on those "paper glasses", we waited patiently for the show to start. It was impressive! Soon after, we were led into another door where we get to take Pictures with the trophy! heee... The plus thing is that it was Free tooo... hehe.. Nothing beats seeing the real World Cup trophy.

Oh yah, there were also cute Japanese Kids in Jerseys.. So cute! I wanted to take photos with them but the guy was so shy.. hehe. So I gave up the idea and took candid shots of them instead. Hee..

Time really flies. 4 years has just passed in a flickle. Still remember what were you all doing on the finals between Brazil and Germany?? Hee.. I was with Ed outside Ngee Ann City catching the live Mega Screening.. The atmosphere was perfect! But this year, we will have to give World Cup a miss... cos by then we will be at Grand canyon..

10 March (Friday) : Jurong West Community Library
The Reopening! heee.. Ed and I went there... Haaa.. borrowed a lot of storybooks. The brand new books are simply irresistible..Some of my finds include Sophie Kinsella latest book," The Undomestic Goddess", the audio-visual item: SpellBound (a documentary show on the National Spelling Bee) I was amazed by the way the contestant say they like spelling! The show fully captures the facial expression and tension... But i still find it hard to comprehend that Spelling can be such a woo-haa in the States.

11 March (Saturday) : First time into the Driving Circuit
My driving test is on the 22nd of this month. And today is only my first time to the circuit. Find it quite scary... Butterflies are flying around in my stomach! Come to think of it, is just an certificate that qualifies you as a driver. So it does not really matter whether I pass a not.. So why am I feeling so scared? Hee... Ok.. Be positive!

Will be meeting up with my JC frenzs later on.. I am looking forward to it... heee...
