I survived the first week of Training

Time really flies.. I have attended training for a week. Another one more week to go. Initially training was relaxing and boring... but as the day goes by, the stuff that our instructors teach increases and gets more comprehensive. Erm.. Now it kinda become information overload... Haa!!! But the instructors really do try to get us to learn and grasp the fundamentals in operating their software!!! Seriously speaking, most of the time I am in Lala land... Wan le...

Most of the time I am looking to the knocking off... HEe.. Guess this is the work syndrome, so I am pretty alright.

Oh ya, I had a few nice meals (dinner) this week... My lunch is usually settled at Amoy street. I must indeed that they have one of the nicest food. The Nasi lemak and the Won tun noodle.. Hee.. Too much too say, so I will write on my dinner instead. Haa...

Mon: New york new york at Citilink... Not much comments. Typical western food restaurant. Their spaghetti was a bit overcooked. The bbq ribs tasted a bit too sweet for my liking

Tue: My favourite fried fish Tom yam noodle at the coffee shop on top of Bishan Interchange... It tasted something like Thai express Tom Yam noodle and it is much cheaper, pricing it at $4.

Wed: Roti Prata at the Prata House along Upper Thomson Road... I love their gravy that goes along with the prata. Their chicken murtabak was nice too. I had fish briyani. It was nice but it would have been better if it was not that salty. I tried the paper prata too... Hee.. I love paper prata!!!! (But those in Malaysia still taste much better as they put condensed milk and sugar on the crisp paper prata.. In Singapore, they only put honey and sometimes with sugar) hee..

Thu: Curry puff at AMK... Is at one of the coffee shop near the cinema.. Is my favourite Curry puff so far.. They really have solid, visible chicken inside. Priced at $1 each.

Fri: Sakae Sushi and Swensen with Pei Shi.... I finally got to eat my frosted chocolate malt! Hee.. I love it.. luckily we shared one ice cream.. Or else it will be so sinful and a bit too overwhelming for one to eat it all up.

HAaa... Seems like I have been eating good lunch and dinner!!! haaa...

First Day at Work

Boring!!! I tried very hard to keep myself awake. It seems like I am back to seminar classes where the tutor keep rattling on and on... However, some of the stuff that they mentioned today was quite imprinted in my mind.

1) I got the part where the HR manager mentioned that we have to work on our Balance sheet first before we expect a good PnL. In other words, it means that we should be concerned about our current own personal development rather than short term monetary benefits. (Just to let you all know, Audit has one of the lowest starting pay. Thus most will be tempted to switch jobs to tap on the one with the higher pay) I thought this was quite enlightening and further affirms my choice of choosing audit... Starting out fresh gives me the opportunity to try, learn and make mistakes and I believe that I am going to learn a lot in Audit.

2) Another thing that i took note of was something about "Career Ownership." I thought these were quite inspirational... Your career belongs to you and you own it. As simple as that!!!!

Pre Work Feelings

Nervous? Excited? Lost?
Cant really describe how I am feeling now. After so many months of slacking and playing, it feels kinda weird to start doing something constructive. The fact that I have graduated only start to hit me now... No more school holidays and no more mid term break...

I am going to embark my next phase in life.. Hope it will be a smooth sailing and fun one...

Successful Bbq

A day out with my uni frenzs. More of like a 4 Couples' Day out. Quite interesting. Each of us brought our bf along.. Haa. My first time ever having this kind of outing. Hee...

This bbq has been organised over a period of 2 weeks via email... We even had an excel spreadsheet comparing and indicating the prices of accessories and food. The most meticulous bbq that I ever had. Luckily Sq was there to control our quantity or we would have splurge and gorge ourselves.

JC Gathering

Miss Clarity Cafe @ Bugis...
Nice, reasonable food... Bit noisy but I guess is Friday night! Realise Soon Peng was missing in the picture. The waiter skills were not so good after all.

Still incomplete picture.. Haa. Esther and Guang Rui went to make calls...

All except at the top left is from Miss Clarity Cafe... The chicken tastes nice! Quite unique. The mango pudding if from Ah Chew Dessert. Nothing really special about it. Hee.

Really glad to meet up with you all, especially Esther. It has been ages since we last met and chat. Oh ya ppl, I saw Mr Seet, FM tutor, last night when Ed and I went to find Bugis Village. Seems like he has shed some weight. SO coincidental.

I am a Happy Girl Today...

SHopping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More shopping! Haaa... Went with Huixian to Malaysia, City Square today. Had great food and nice clothings. I bought a total of 5 greeting cards, 4 work tops, 3 secret recipe cakes and ate 2 meals. The tops are sooooo cheap.. Haa.. Of course it takes some skills and luck to chance upon the right one... I bought 2 short sleeve tops and 2 long sleeve tops for about RM$190 (S$82). Quite a deal right? Huixian bought 2 tops in Malaysia too.. Pretty pretty too...

Food
1) HK cafe for lunch. Same price as Singapore but it is in RM. SO imagine the $$$ we save. Haa.. I had this braised chicken with potato in Shanghainese rice(Think is about RM$7.90) and yuan yang (RM$2.8). The drink is authentic in the sense that they have this slight sour taste (Hx told me that). I love the drink as you can add the amount of sugar that you want. Not too sweet and not too bland.

2) Dinner @ the Portuguese Chicken Cafe.. Nice nice.. I always have this when I am in City Square. Try the chicken with the Spaghetti.. Hee.. The gravy is tasty.. Though it gets quite sick if you eat too much.. Hee...

3) Aunti Anne's lemonade... Cheaper than those in Singapore.. The pretzels are cheaper too. but I am too full to eat anymore...

4) Secret Recipe's cakes.. I bought 3 cakes home.. HEe.. Half the price of those in Singapore.. Double the fun.. Haa.

Back to Shopping and Grooming
Our shopping continues when we are back in Singapore... Checked out BYSI.. Sad to say, we did not buy anything... Went for eyebrow trimming @ one of the Bishan Facial Store.. Not too bad.. After that headed back to J8 for more shopping.. HAa. Hx finally bought her sweet G2000 purple shirt. That is really pretty... hee.

Really had fun today out shopping with Huixian today. Haa.. I am now over the moon.. (Still admiring my purchases for the day.)

Initially we had plans to go prata house.. Later we decided to change to Thomson Plaza for convenience sake. HEe.. After eating a sumptuous dinner at a Thai Cafe, we headed to Olio Dome for a drink. I had my favourite Ice Mocha with Gelato...

Today

Went for a swim this morning... Was thinking twice about it as I just had a swim yesterday when it suddenly rained heavily (with thunderstorm). Thus my swim was disrupted...

Wanted to rest my body but the weather was just too nice to give swimming a miss.. Hee.. So after an hour of consideration, I packed my swimming stuff and headed to the pool. Though I always feel very very tired after a swim, I am consoled that I did some exercise.. The reminder of 3 buffets last week still haunt me. Hee.

After the swim, I went to Toa Payoh to get my spectacles fix.. There I was, shopping again. got myself another white top.. Faint le... Just yesterday I bought a Santa Barbara Bag... Heee. Got discount Initial price was $120++ then after discount I got it at $45.90.. Quite reasonable right??? . Haa. I did rationalize and consider for a few days.. hee.. Happy with my purchase but my wallet is feeling the pinch...

My plan for later is to embark on my Grand Canyon Video.. Gotta start somewhere or I doubt it will be done any time soon.. Heee. US frenzs kindly wait for my major achievement.. (Hopefully I will get it done)

My Teacher's Day Cake

My tuition kid gave it to me for Teacher's Day. Sweet Secrets Cookie and Cream Cheesecake.. Not really very nice... Was too creamy for my liking.... But it was really a sweet gesture from him.. (though i think it was his mother and aunt who got it for me.. haa) HEee... Read the SUnday times last week and came across nice Cakes again... Really Want to try out the Pine Garden Cake SHop and Choc-a- bloc. Think I have tried Pine Garden Cake before at my frenz's 21th birthday. Did not leave much of an impression on me.. Gotta try it again.. Check out their websites. Looks so delicious...

Some Childhood memories..

A Day in Bugis
Seoul Garden.. It has been ages since I was back there.. Still remember those days with my primary school frenzs gossiping at the branch in Junction 8... Another time was with my dear celebrating our first month anniversary?? hAaa.. We actually wanted to eat sakae sushi then there was this Indian Chinese staff who keep on tempt us to eat.. So funny the way she entice us to eat...

Neo-Prints! My youngest sister keep on reminding me the fact that we have to treasure our youth and to take as much neo-prints that we can!! (So that we can compare how we have aged over the years) haaa. What a valid excuse... So out there I was, hanging around at the neo-print shop in Bugis.. So i pester Ed to take with me.. HAaa. I was so amazed with the new machines. THere are so much gimmicks that you can do with it.. Though it cost much more expensive about $10/photo, the fun was worthwhile.. MAybe you all will like to bask in childhood fun again.. Go try it.. heee..

Interesting books..

Tony Parsons' Books are interesting.. Currently in love with them. Now on my attempt to read the third book by him, Men and Boy...

His stories are well elaborated and realistically narrate the real life.. Have read finished Men and Wife and The Family Way.. Both are nice and it seem so real... What captivated me was that the book mention that for a marriage/ relationship to work is that " We just keep on believing." These simple words seem so easy yet impactful... I simply love it...
