Eventful Week..

Had a few gatherings this week... Hehe.
19 Dec (Wed)-- Beppu Ramen @ Sun Tec
Met up with Catherine... A teacher now. Still remember the secondary school days where we sat right at the back of the classroom and chatted non-stop. Time flies. Though she has been staying in Bishan for the past 2 years, we have yet to meet for any supper... She is going to shift again soon... Hope we can catch up real soon again. =)
The Ramen was bit soggy.. A bit disappointed. However the soup still taste very nice. I love their dessert too.

20 Dec (Thu) -KTV with Uni friends
Had KTV at Smith Street. Miao Rong got this cheap contact.. $10 for free flow of drinks plus a bowl of Shark fin's soup. We sang for 5 hours(2pm to 7Pm). Paul's friend joined us.. Wow and he really can sing... Applause.

After the sing, we ate at the food street. Omg, I had sore throat straight after that. Must be all the heaty stuff.. hehe.
The turnout...

21 December (Fri evening)
Ages since I last met up with Ting Yi, my secondary school friend. I am so happy that she is doing pretty well right now. It is nice catching up times with friends...

We met at Junction 8, and tried out the HK cafe... This being my second time there.. I ordered the Yuan Yang baked rice.. It basically has salmon, pork chop and the mussel in cheese baked rice. Cost $8. I love the yuan yang there.. Cost $1.30. Best thing, no service charge or GST...

22 December Morning(Sat) -KTV

KTV at Cathay Orchard...

JC gathering.. Thanks Soon Peng for organising...

I must say the KTV was quite wild.. When Ling Wei and Suat came, they bring up the atmosphere. haha. Wan loong was super on.. In the end, GR, Sp and me are the audience. haha..

Some of the candid photos...

A pity Yu min cant join us.. Hope you are feeling better now...

Delighted me... 16 Dec (Sun)

Ed wanted to buy a camera for me as a christmas and birthday prezzie.. We thus sourced for potential cameras for the whole week.. After much filtering, I zoom into the following 2 cameras: Panasonic- TZ2 and Panasonic- FX30... ( after my uncle's recommendation for panasonic cameras as they uses leica lens)

Tz2
Slightly larger is size.. But this camera boosts a 10x optical zoom.. How cool is that... I can capture idols, animals, sceneray at a real close distance... Good for travelling

The Sleak FX30...
with just a 3 times optical zoom. Good for the daily use though.

We then headed to Alan photo at Sim Lim square to look at the cameras. My uncle recommended this place to get cameras as it is generally cheaper than departmental outlets.

Upon weighing the pros and cons, I decided to opt for the sleak FX30 as it is cheaper ($385 vs $470) and it is just nice for daily use. I managed to convince my mum to get the FX30 @ $385 (for a camera, case and a 2G card)... My house only functioning camera has been taken by Coconut to Cambodia. Handicapped in taking photos. Mum thus decided to get a new camera... What a nice timing!

Today, Ed and I then went out to Junction 8 to window shop. Guess what, the Tz2 was selling at $349 for the full package (screen protector, 2Gb card, case, tripod and cleaning kit). The usual selling price was $549 and Alan photo quoted me $470, so when I heard $349, I was so excited that Ed bought it for me right then. Imagine a cost saving of $130!!!

Thus, in the end I have both cameras for 2 different functions.. haha.. But I have to share with my sis and ed.. Anyway, I am still so happy that I got the same product at a so much lesser price.

Some random thoughts on 15 Dec 2007

1) I love my job till far...
(except for some occasional irritating jobs which I have been nagging over the past few months)
2) I actually enjoy doing stocktake, especially for those interesting clients...
So far I have counted oil tanks, wafers, chips and sealed boxes (tons and tons of it). Usually for stocktake, I get to knock off early. =)
3) Today is my first official workday for a saturday.
Had a stocktake today for about 2 hours and spent the rest of my afternoon documenting it.
4) I actually like lazing at home and I am glued to watching dvds...
5) I dont like to shop during weekends when there are hoard of peoples... (Gen was asking where is the old me.. Why I dont like shopping now? I still love it. It is just that the crowd turns me off)
6) I love to travel and eat. Most people do anyway.
7) I am a planning freak..
I am currently in the midst of preparing for my trip next April to Vietnam.
8) I can listen to the same song over and over again...
9) I dont remember the movies that I have watched.
10) I treasure friendship and relationship a lot. =)
11) My blog cannot capture the date posted so I have to manaully key in the date... hehe.

That's all.. Just some thoughts to think about since I have the time.

Oh ya come to think of it, it has been about a month since I last wrote on my 3 year diary. I bought the diary when I was in Taiwan... It is an interesting diary as each page is divided into 3 sections, so that on the second year you can reflect back on what you actually did the previous year. Think I better go started on doing my "homework"...

Malaysia Day Trip - 8 Dec 2007

Went to JB early in the morning to meet Ed... Hehe...

Caught a movie The Golden Compass at Leisure mall. I thought the movie was pretty nice. Very fantasy-like, with fairies, polar bear, animals and etc... I was pretty captivated by it.. Ed was a bit sien over the fact that it has the second part... He thus has to watch part 2 for the whole story.. I am in a way quite looking forward to the show. However on second thoughts, I thought the show did not properly handle well some scenes... Why did the main girl character know that the guy was his dad??? Haha. Not to dwell on it.. especially for those who did not watched the show.

I then met up with Ed's friend, yun feng... It was nice meeting up but I was feeling so tired that I nearly doze off while they were talking. hee.. Pai seh ya.

A short trip to somewhere really works wonder.. (especially when it is cheaper to watch movie and eat over there. =))

Uni Gathering @ Thai Express - 6 December 2007

University Gathering.. =) It has been ages since we last met up with each other. Blur me, thought it was something like a farewell meet-up for Paul. (I innocently thought he will be out station for work. In fact, he will just be away on holiday with his wife. hehe. ) Anyway, it was a nice meet-up on a Thursday evening at Marine square.

Fiery hot Phad That. Both ed and my favourite.
Beware, you will easily get sore throat upon consumption of this.

Gen's recommedation- curry soft shell crab with rice.
A heavenly match with the hot tom yam soup.

Zhen shi and gen..

Me and Rong...

The Group photo. =)

It just happened that we are dressed in black and white. Quite boring but you wont go wrong with these colours. haha. Realised that I am getting more lazy to dress up for work. Just a simple top to match a black skirt and I am all ready for work.

Standard Chartered Marathon 2007 (2 Dec 2007)

We did it!!! Congrats to my sis, ed and myself!!!! Though it was a gruesome 8 hours walk and run, I did enjoy myself... another great achievement off my list... Thanks love, for introducing these sports in my life... We managed to accomplish it together.

Posing for a shot at 5am in the morning right outside fullerton...

This signals about 50% of the marathon done... which means from then on, we are walking all the way back to Padang... think we walked about 5 hours to get back...

After the run.. Excited us.. I so badly wanted to sit down then. never in my life have I ever felt so good to be sitting down.

We have indeed earned it.. so proud of myself.. Think i am going to join again next year.. but definitely with more training in place... anyway, think I have recovered from the run yesterday... woo hoo.. Though i still cannot run and jump. haha.
