Driving is back to haunt me...

This morning marks my second time failure for driving..The circuit would have been fine if not for the VERTICAL Parking.. I am starting to suspect that it is the curse. The first time I failed my driving was because i mount kerb while coming out from the vertical parking. THis time round, I had 12 demerits points because of vertical parking again!!! Arg... What's happening...

Luckily the instructor was nice and asked me to redo.. But i could only perfect the vertical parking the third time round.. Am i really too nervous?? Find that my failure was a bit not worthwhile.. Everything that I feared initially (S curve, Junction turning, lane change) turned out fine... Instead something still manage to caught me unprepared...

While out driving in the road, there was this begineer car that was driving at 30km/h when the speed limit for the car was 70km/h.. I nearly fainted.. Then I got demerit points for not keeping a safe distance from the car.. sien diao..

Think I got to build up my self confidence!! And get ample rest next time driving.. haaa.. find it so ironic that the first time I was scared of the main road and this second time I am scared of the circuit. Somehow I just got stuff to be scared of...

Hope my luck gets better next time round.. All the best to those out there who is going to have their driving test soon!!!!

Photos taken in US...

Vibrant, glittery Las Vegas - Fremont Street and The Strip
One of my favourite cities.. Shopping, eating and gambling paradise. Sleep is not active until about 3am everyday. Though weather is hot (LV is a desert!), the shopping and food makes up for everything! haaa..
Cool, Fun Los Angeles
Day 1: Cemetry Visit, Chinatown and Japantown
Day2: Santa Monica
My favourite beach. Vast sea and lively street performances
Day 3: Disneyland! 2.5hours ride away from Hollywood
Day 4: UCLA, Farmers Market and The Grove
Look at how cool their university is.. Totally unlike NTU. The architecture is so pretty that I cant just prevent myself from taking some more shots.. HAaa..

Farmers Market and the Grove is something like a shopping paradise... Kinda far from Hollywood but it was worthwhile.

Beautiful San Diego - Seaport Village, Gaslamp Quarter,
Old Town and Balboa Park
My favourite city!!! Nice weather, clean place, cool architecture and friendly people. Is just the best of both worlds: Vibrant nightlife at Gaslam Quarter and peaceful daylife at Seaport Village...
Hilly and Chilly San Francisco
Ride down the Golden Gate Bridge is no easy task. The strong winds coupled with the long distance aggravated the ride. But it was fun!!! Oh ya, the Chinatown in San Francisco is so much bigger than that of Singapore.. Very chinese.. Had dim sum almost everyday.. hee..

,

What am I up to these days..

I must admit that I am lazy to blog... With inital attempts to post the photos taken in the States, reconsideration sets in when I realise I have a total of 14 gig of photos! BUT... I have a solution for it.. A photo video clip... Haaa. Clever me! Hope I can get it done before I start work in Sept...

Currently, my day can simply be break up into:
40% Sleep
25% Slacking/Reading/ Watching Koreans Drama/Struggling with Photoshop
20% Gatherings/ Meet-ups
10% Driving + Travelling time
5% Meals

HAaa.. Sounds so accoutant that I can even break up my day into %.

Looking at my percentiles, felt a bit consoled that I am at least doing something constructive.. Driving! Really hope to pass this time round then can proudly say "Bye bye driving lesson"

One more month before works start. Really wonder at times what it would be like. Overtime? Panda eyes? Boring life? No social life? Hectic schedules? Cabs at night? Teamwork? Confused me? Haa...

Looking back at my time spent in Grand Canyon. I really enjoyed it.. The companionship, the weather, the tranquility and the scenery. Everything seems to slow down and everyday is so relaxed (ok, maybe not for my housekeeping job). But life there is really nice.. Simply different from life in Singapore where there is many people and buildings...

Travelled for 2 weeks in the States after my work in Grand Canyon...
Las Vegas - 26 Jul- 28 Jul
Los Angeles - 29 Jul -2 Aug
San Diego 2 Aug -5 Aug
San Francisco 5 Aug- 8 Aug

My favourite place is San Diego. The place itself is beautiful.. Very European.. Nice Architecture, weather and people. Staying in the hub of San Diego, Gaslamp Quarter (like 10X Holland Village in Singapore), every night is full of life and entertainment... The place itself also feels much safer compared to Hollywood... (at least I dont feel scare that I may get robbed at night. Haa) In the day, we visited places of interest like OLd Town and Balboa Town.. Must go places!!! SImply pretty and nice.. heee.. Took a lot of photos there with the nice buildings...

Anyway, I must conclude that it was a nice experience to be in the States.. But doubt i can survive for so long there if not for the fact that Ed and my new-found frenzs are there!!! Thank for making it such an enjoyable trip!

Stuck in Taipei Airport...

Just had a 13 hours flight from San Francisco.... Currently at Taipei airport. Reached at 5am..

Supposed to transit and take the 7.30am flight back to Singapore. However a typhoon in Taipei caused our flight to be delayed for 4 hours... But it is not too bad as we got ourselves free meal coupon from the Eva Airline. Not too bad a service. I am using the free internet service in the airport.. Quite pathetic. They only have two computers in the airport.. At least that was what I saw.. hee...

Shopping around the airport is nothing comparable to those at Singapore airport... The airport here is much smaller and the gift shop personnel are all lining outside the stores waiting to poach customers.. kinda intimidating..

Cant wait to be home and enjoy the food.. I miss Chicken rice, ding tai fung xiao long bao, my mum's cooking and many many more...

Still got 4 hours to while away before i could board the plane.. Will be home soon... Kinda tired from the trip.. MAybe i am away from home too long le.. hee...

In Los Angeles (hollywood)

Where is all the glitter???

I am staying in USA hostel- hollywood.. It is quite what I unexpected.. Kinda rundown and old... Is quiet in the morning with just a few people on the streets.. But at night, it is pretty crowded...

But I still prefer going to santa monica.. THis is a beach.. Typical kind of beach you see in shows where they have vast sea and sand... People lying on the sands with sea gulls flying around.. The interesting part is that there is an amusement park just beside the memorial place..

Leaving for San diego in about an hour time.. See you all when i am back in singapore...
