October Runs

SGX Bull Run ( 19 October 2007)
A run with Jaxine organised by the company... A fun run... A nice feeling to be running along shenton way during evening time.. My first ever experience. My previous run was in the day with the huge scorching sun... Please look at Jaxine's blog @ http://www.xanga.com/sugarn5pice/
Jaxine, you did a great job so I will just link to yours.. ( Haha.. I am actually lazy)

Great Eastern Run ( 21 October 2007)
Signed up the 5km run with my sister. Should have signed up the 10km run to train for endurance run... But anyway given the fact we have the same goodie bag so it's oK!! haha.
The run is for females only... During the run, I was thinking if any guys appear running, it will look super off as he will be outcast.. Just then I saw a guy running, presumably running with his gf.. It does not look that weird afterall.. But maybe he is feeling damn weird with a hoard of females around him.
After the run, met up with Ed for breakfast @ Cafe cartel.. Thanks for the breakfast...

New Balance Real Run (28 October 2007)

Woke up at 530am! Head a cab down to Changi Exhibition Centre @ Changi Coast Road. Managed to reach at 655am, just 5 mins before the road closes at 7am to 10am.

The long awaited 15km run started at 745am! Off we go.. Unlike the other race, the race feature a 12km road+1km sand+1km ruanway +1km trail.

In a way, I quite like this marathon. The race was pretty well organsied and running by the beach is a new and refreshing feeling.

After an 2 hours intense run, Ed and I finally make it. Poor him, he has to slow down his pace to suit me and along the way, I was being lazy.. haha~ My longest marathon so far..

Our runner's bib.. Looks so pretty with the baby colours..

The goodie shoe bag.. It comes with a matching Lightning dry Top...

Food...

Located opposite Bugis junction. It is located right behind the Apple strudel store. I have been wanting to try their food ever since I saw the long queue during lunch time. (I was working near there a few months back.)

The fish soup is nice. About $4. Not for people who dont like sweet stuff. Their soup is a bit on the sweet side. The claypot chicken @ $8 is also quite huge.. The beer cost about $6. Pretty reasonable.

Ed ordered this new dish from Pepper Lunch. Nice taste but a bit petite for one to be full. More of like some finger food.

I tried this dessert shop opposite Sim Lim square. Not very nice though. Was a bit disappointed. The ice is not that smooth and the mango is not that sweet. I still prefer the dessert made in Taiwan. I am missing it..

Mango dessert with mango and mango sorbet. Think it cost about $5 for a small serving.

Food again!

Prefere ice-cream @ Velocity
Very nice ice-cream. My sister and I tried the cherry yoghurt and grape ice- cream. The cherry yoghurt is nicer although the grape one has chocolate bits in it. Their ice cream texture is very thick and creamy. Lovely. $3.50/scoop.

Mama Bakery @ Velocity
A japanese bakery. I bought a few of their interesting breads such as crushed pear bread and several others. It tasted very normal. My expectations for japanese bakery is acutally quite high after I tried the bread @ Petite. However, the japanese granny @ the shop is very warm and friendly. Below is their signature bread. Nothing very spectacular. $2.50.

But this chocolate scone is actually quite nice. $1.80 (if I am not wrong). This is the only nicest one out of the others that I bought.

Muffins @ Amande, the almond bakery @ Toa Payoh Central

I tried this chocolate bumble bee muffin. Quite chocolaty. Cost $1.2/piece. This cake shop sells quite a lot of almond stuff which taste quite nice too. They have several other interesting looking muffins too.

Huge Murtabak @ Bras Brasah
My first time seeing such a huge chicken Murtabak! It is about the size of a tray. Tasted so-so but it is super filling. Cost $5.

Malaysia short trip (6-7 Oct)

Portuguese chicken with spaghetti @ City square. A must eat everytime I go malaysia. The portuguese egg tart is also quite nice.

Mee Pattaya for Supper.

Tissue prata. Crispy and sweet.

Ban Mian at a stall near leisure mall. Love it.. The clear soup is very tastful and they have meat ball inside it.

Guess what's this?

Heart shaped nuggets. Pretty amused by it.

Realised that I spend most of my money on food! There is so much to eat over there. Cheap and yummy food. Will love to go there soon again.
